Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date (year unknown), he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until February 1, 1946.

Robert served as a Private First Class, 16th Bomber Squadron, 27th Bomber Group, Light, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Chittenden County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 27, 1940, prior to the war, in Montpelier, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Driver and also as Single, without dependents.

Robert was declared "Missing In Action" during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
