Jason served as a Second Lieutenant & Navigator on B-24D "Yanks From Hell" #41-23716, 321st Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Aiken County, South Carolina prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 20, 1942 at Daniel Field, Augusta, Georgia. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a County agent and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24D #41-23716 took off, with 23 other B-24's, from 5-Mile Drome (Wards - APO #713) near Port Moresby on a night bombing mission over Boram Airfield near Wewak, Papua New Guinea. They were hit & shot down by "intense" ground anti-aircraft fire and crashed at Cape Boram.

Jason was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Jason also has a "Cenotaph" with his parents in the Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, South Carolina.
