In April, Mr & Mrs David Allison of Baxter, Rt 2, Tennessee, received a
message from the War Department advising them that their son, Pvt Elkoney
Allison was reported a prisoner of war of the Japanese government in the
Philippine Islands, where he had been since 1941.
Two weeks ago they received a card from their son from a concentration camp
in the Philippines stating that he was well and employed.
Again on Saturday of last week they were notified by the War Department that
their son had died in a Japanese prison; further details of his death were
not given.
Young Allison, who attended the Cookeville schools and Baxter Seminary, had
been in the regular Army since 1939.

Elkoney Allison was a member of B Company, 192nd Tank Battalion. He fought on Bataan and became a Prisoner of War on April 9, 1942. He took part in the Bataan Death March and was held as a POW at Camp O'Donnell and later Cabanatuan. He died at Cabanatuan.
