Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was officially declared by the military as dead on March 7, 1946.

Husband of Clotilua D. Ackerman who resided in Silver Springs, Maryland.

Alanson served as a Staff Sergeant and Gunner on B-24J "Patty's Pig" (#44-40398), 531st Bomber Squadron, 380th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in the District Of Columbia prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on April 30, 1943 at Fort Myer, Virginia. He was noted as being employed as a Photoengraver and also as Married.

Alanson was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-24 was shot down by flak near Koepang, Timor and crashed in the Koepang Bay during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
