Early Branch, March 11 [1928] - Mrs Virginia Davis Youmans died at her residence here just before dawn Friday morning after a ten day illness terminating in pneumonia.

Mrs Youmans was loved by all who knew her and was well known for her charitable works. She was the second daughter of the Rev James E and Jane McTeer Davis. She is survived by the following children: sons, James B Youmans of Yemassee, William F Youmans, Nicholas Youmans and Raymond Youmans of Early Branch; daughters, Mrs Cecil Davidson of Beaufort, Mrs Andrew Hutson and Mrs Percival Heath, both of Early Branch, and three brothers, Dr J N Davis of Lakeland, Florida, J B Davis and William E Davis of Tillman.

The funeral was held from the residence Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment was in the Youmans Cemetery.

NOTE: Her correct name was Elliott Jeanette Davis per the attached death certificate and her mother's maiden name was Ulmer not McTeer. Her grandmother's maiden name was McTeer.
