Edward attended University of Florida where he was a brother of the Florida Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp) Fraternity & a member of the Class of 1939.

Edward served as a Second Lieutenant & Pilot on a flight ( type plane and # unknown ), 71st Bomber Squadron, 38th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Gilcrist County, Florida prior to the war.

Prior to the war, Edward enlisted in the Army Air Corps on September 4, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Actor and also as Single, without dependents.

They took off, with a crew of 4, from Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea on a routine flight to Queensland, Australia. After take off they were not seen nor heard from again.

Edward was declared "Missing In Action" on this flight during the war.
