Having officially gone "Missing In Action" on the above date, He was not officially declared as being dead by the military until January 7, 1946.

Frank served as a Master Sergeant on B-17E "Miss Carriage" (#41-2645), 64th Bomber Squadron, 43rd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Colorado prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on April 29, 1939, prior to the war. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of leather and also as a Widower, without dependents.

Frank was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-17 failed to return to its base after a reconnaissance mission over Buna and Gasmata during the war. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
