He resided in the District Of Columbia prior to the war. He was also survived by his mother and brother Goodwin. He married his wife, the former Alice Elizabeth Meyers, in Honolulu in 1940.
Roscoe was declared "Missing In Action" when the Shark was probably sunk by the Japanese destroyer Yamakaze east of Manado during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
