Son of Mrs. Josephine Cieszynski.

Stanley, who resided at 325 South Jackson Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Coxswain on the destroyer U.S.S. Monaghan, U.S. Navy during World War II.

The U.S.S. Monaghan, along with the U.S.S. Hull (DD-350) and the U.S.S. Spence (DD-512) sank during Typhoon Cobra off the East Coast of the Philippines during the war.

Only 91 crew members survived this sinking from all three ships.

Stanley was declared "Missing In Action" in the Monaghan's sinking.

He had served in the Navy for two years and four months at the time of his death.

His remains were not recovered.
