Son of John Wesley Adams who resided in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Rupert served as a Master Sergeant, 321st Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on April 10, 1941, prior to the war, in Richmond, Virginia. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Linemen and also as Single, without dependents.

Rupert was a Passenger on B-24D "Yanks From Hell" #41-23716 that was assigned to the 321st Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy.

B-24D #41-23716 took off, with 23 other B-24's, from 5-Mile Drome (Wards - APO #713) near Port Moresby on a night bombing mission over Boram Airfield near Wewak, Papua New Guinea. They were hit & shot down by "intense" ground anti-aircraft fire and crashed at Cape Boram.

Rupert was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
