Harry served as a Captain & Pilot on B-25G #42-64779, 490th Bomber Squadron, 341st Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Piatt County, Illinois prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 5, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Driver and also as Single, without dependents.

B-25G #42-64779 took off, with a crew of 7, from Kurmitola, India on a low level strike mission over the Monywa, Sagaing Region, Myanmar. They were seen to burst into flames, for an unknown reason, and crash near Monywa with the B-25 completely demolished. The entire crew was lost.

Harry was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the "Legion of Merit", "Distinguished Flying Cross", Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Purple Heart.
