Peter served as a Private First Class on B-25D Mitchell (#41-30573), 2nd Bomber Squadron, 22nd Bomber Group, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Pennsylvania prior to the war.

Peter died in the "Line Of Duty" when his B-25 was involved in a mid-air collision with another B-25 over the Dohudura airfield, New Guinea, during formation training and the twin engined medium bomber tumbled to earth, claiming the lives of all seven aboard.

The other B-25 landed without casualties.

Son of Patrick Keane (23 April 1885 Ireland – Dec 1972 Pennsylvania) & Julia L. Kellaher Keane (20 Nov 1883 Ireland – May 1974 Pennsylvania).
