Petty Officer Clingerman, who enlisted in the navy Nov. 1. 1942 would have been 24 years old on Jan. 28, 1945.

He participated in most of the major engagements in the South Pacific and the invasion of the Philippines.

He graduated from Findlay High School in 1938. He attended Findlay College for one year and previous to his enlistment spent eight months in Panama, working under civil service in a Panama road building project.
