Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until February 5, 1946.

Kenneth served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on B-24J #42-70148, 72nd Bomber Squadron, 5th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Bossier Parish, Louisiana prior to the war.

B-24J #42-70148 took off, with a crew of 10, from Green Island (APO 717), for a strike mission over Truk Islands. They were not seen nor heard from again after take off. Bad weather was noted in the area at the time and may have been related to them going missing.

Kenneth was declared "Missing In Action" on this mission during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.
