2LT Greco was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Salvadore John and Santa Maria Giardina Greco. His father died when he was 7 months old, at which time he and his mother moved in with her father-his grandfather. He completed high school and was working for General Electric Company in 1941 when he completed his Military Draft Registration Card. His mother was living in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

He enlisted in the US Army Air Corp on 5 Jan 1942 in at Camp Shelby, Mississippi as a Private. His term of enlistment was for the Philippine War Department. After his initial basic training, he was eventually assigned to the HQs Squadron, 8th Survey Group, which was part of the 5th USAAF operating in the south Pacific. He was the Co-Pilot on board a B-25H Mitchell assigned to the 5th USAAF that crashed into the sea on 2 Sep 1944.

2LT Greco was listed as missing in action. His name appears on the Tablets of the Missing, located in the Manila American Cemetery, Manila, Philippines. BIO: Rick Ervin
