He noted when he enlisted that he resided in the District Of Columbia prior to the war. He was originally from New York County, New York.
He enlisted in the Army on September 14, 1943 in New York City, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.
He was married sometime after his enlistment and had one daughter, Barbara.
The B-24 that he was on was last seen by others to explode right before it crashed into the sea. Cause is currently unknown and the entire crew perished.
Donal was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.
He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
