Gordon served as a Staff Sergeant in the V Interceptor Command, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 370 North Bay Front Street, Point Pleasant, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 30, 1939. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Divorced, without dependents.

He became a POW of the Japanese Army in the "Fall Of The Philippines" in April-May, 1942.

Gordon "Died Of Disease as a POW" while interned in a Japanese prison camp following his capture in the Pacific area.

He was awarded the Prisoner Of War Medal and the Purple Heart.
