Robert served as a First Lieutenant & Navigator on B-25J #44-29271, 17th Squadron, 71st Reconnaissance Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 306 Somershire Drive, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on September 10, 1941, prior to the war, in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as an Actor and also as being Single, without dependents.

He was married sometime after his enlistment.

Robert was declared "Missing In Action" in the Southwest Pacific when his B-25J crashed into the sea due to being damaged by enemy fire during the war.

He was awarded the "Distinguished Flying Cross", Air Medal, and a Purple Heart.
