Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until April 15, 1946.

Frederick served as a Sergeant & Gunner on B-25D #41-30058, 499th Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Westchester County, New York prior to the war.

B-25D #41-30058 took off, with a crew of 6, from Mokmer Airfield, Papua Province, Indonesia on a barge sweep mission over the Sorong area, province of West Papua, eastern Indonesia.

They were last seen on this sweep but never returned to base. The entire crew of 6 were lost on this mission during the war.

Frederick was declared "Missing In Action" on this mission.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
