Son of Ernest & Gussie Baum who resided in New York City, New York.

Bertram served as a Second Lieutenant & Navigator on a B-24 (# unknown ), 320th Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in New York County, New York prior to the war.

The B-24 that he was on was last seen by others to explode right before it crashed into the sea. Cause is currently unknown and the entire crew perished.

Bertram was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
