Husband of Mrs. Lillian Estelle Bates.

Emmett served as a Seaman, First Class, U.S.S. Ticonderoga (CV-14), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Buffalo, Erie County, New York prior to the war. Entered the service from New York.

Emmett was "Killed In Action" when a Japanese kamikaze hit the Ticonderoga south of Japan during the war. He was awarded a Purple Heart.

He was buried at sea.
