Gordon served as a Technician Fourth Grade, 31st Infantry Regiment, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided at 607 Washington Street S., East Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 30, 1939. He was noted as being Single, without dependents. He may have also been in World War I.

Gordon was taken prisoner by the Japanese in the fall of Bataan in April, 1942.

He "Died While A POW" of the Japanese Army at POW Camp 1, Cabanatuan 1-2-3, Nueva Province, Luzon, Philippines during the war. Gordon was one of 45 POW’s to die that day in the Cabanatuan Prisoners Of War Camp.

He was awarded the Prisoner Of War Medal and the Purple Heart.
