Mack served as a First Lieutenant & Co-Pilot on B-25D #41-30259, 499th Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Donley County, Texas prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on August 7, 1940, prior to the war, at Randolph Field, Texas. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of automobiles and also as Single, without dependents.

B-25D #41-30259 took off, with a crew of 4, from Nadzab Airfield (APO #713), Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea on a local transition mission. They were scheduled to return to Nadzab after this mission however were not seen or heard from again.

Mack was declared "Missing In Action" on this flight during the war.

He was previously awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Mack also has a "Cenotaph" in the Rowe Cemetery, Hedley, Texas.
