Emil served as a First Lieutenant & Bombardier on a B-24 (# unknown ), 320th Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Travis County, Texas & had previously been in the Army prior to the war.

He was called back into active Army service on February 2, 1943 and reported to Camp Swift, Bastrop, Texas.

The B-24 that he was on was last seen by others to explode right before it crashed into the sea. Cause is currently unknown and the entire crew perished.

Emil was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
