My 4th Great Grandfather. Was in Revolutionary War from Virginia. Married to Nancy Bridwell. Had Jesse, Lang, Lucy Williams, Charles, Daniel, Elizabeth Henderson, Burr, and George. From JS&S (49969107): Presley Simms, fought in the Revolutionary War and is buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery out past North Montgomery High School. He was an early settler in Virginia and was personally acquainted with George Washington. He was at one time under Gen. George Washington's command. At the age of 63, he served a short time in the war of 1812. In 1814, he was living in Virginia near the Potomac River. The British burned his home and he lost everything. That is when he made the decision to move his family to Kentucky. After moving around for several years, he settled in Montgomery County in 1828. He lived to be 104 years old. His name is one of five Revolutionary soldiers that is found on the monument that sits on the courthouse lawn today.
