He states he was born Sept. 12, 1842 in Tippecanoe Co., IN. and that he married Phebe Jane Johnson Aug. 28, 1866. He states he had 9 children, 5 are dead; 1.Idella Simms, born Aug. 14, 1867, dead, 2.Sherman Simms, born May 25, 1869, 3.Labon Simms, born Jan. 18, 1871, dead, 4.Frank Simms, born, March 10, 1873, 5.Emma J. Simms born April 2, 1875, dead, 6.Etta M. Simms, born March 23, 1878, 7.Homer Simms, born Sept. 12, 1880, 8.Cleveland Simms, born Feb. 7, 1883, dead, 9.Otis Simms, born June 14, 1888, dead. I have a copy of death record for Cleveland Simms from Montgomery Co., IN., he died age 2 from spinal meningitis, also a copy of George W. Simms death record states his parents were Burrell Simms and Elizabeth Hobson. Etta Mae Simms married Joseph Rivers.
