POTTER – George B. Potter, 59, died yesterday [Dec 18, 1949] at the Independence Sanitarium [and hospital]. He moved to Jackson County in 1928 from Arcadia, Kas., where he was born. He was a retired stonemason. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Potter of the home, Allen road a mile north of U.S. highway No. 24, near Independence [MO]; two daughters, Mrs. Susanna Young, route No.3, Independence, and Mrs. Florence Sears, route No. 2, Independence; three sons, George W. Potter, route No. 2, Independence; Clyde F. Potter, 3746 Olive, and Walter H. Potter, 2800 Forest; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Folk, Moline, Kas., and Mrs. May Crites, Pittsburg, Kas., and three brothers, Thomas Potter, Arcadia, Kas.; William Potter, Nowata, Ok., and James Potter, Windsor, Mo. Services will be at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Christian church in Arcadia. Burial will be in the Arcadia cemetery. The body will be at the Kepley chapel, Independence, until 10 o'clock this Monday night.
