Raymond served as a Private First Class, 397th Infantry Regiment, 100th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Chittenden County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on June 7, 1944 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of miscellaneous products and also as Married.

Raymond was "Killed In Action" near Heilbronn, Germany during the war.

He was awarded the "Silver Star" and Purple Heart.
