SSgt Morrissey was with the 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division when he was wounded, taken prisoner, and died in a German POW camp on March 6, 1945.

Harry Clark Morrissey was killed in action while serving with the United States Marine Corps on Guadalcanal in 1942.
