Son of Charles Meier who resided in Dayton, Ohio.

Rudolph served as a Staff Sergeant & Radio Operator on B-24J #42-100253, 515th Bomber Squadron, 376th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Montgomery County, Ohio prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 14, 1942 at Patterson Field, Fairfield, Ohio. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of electrical machinery and accessories and also as Single, with dependents.

B-24J #42-100253 took off from San Pancrazio, Italy on a bombing mission over Regensburg, Germany. After the bombing mission was completed B-24J #42-100253, for an unknown reason, crashed into B-24D #42-72847 causing both aircraft to crash in Germany during the war.

Rudolph was "Killed In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
