Sergeant McKee Killed in Europe

J. A. McKee received a message from the War department last Friday stating that his son; Tech. Sgt. Fred McKee was dead. He had been reported missing since July 24, 1944, and the telegram stated that he had been dead since the date he had been reported missing.
Technical Sergeant McKee had been overseas several months, having served in the West African War section before being transferred to the European theatre of action, where he was serving at the time of his death. He attended the Wattsville schools and before being inducted into the service was employed at the Laurens Mills as a loom fixer.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Sara Taylor, and an eight--month-old daughter, who are making their home with Mrs. McKee's parents in Woodruff; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McKee; one sister, Miss Lillie McKee of near Wattsville and one brother, Pfc. Edwin L. McKee, who has been serving in the Asiatic Pacific for more than 22 months.
