RACINE - Janice A. (nee: DuBois) Smollen, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at her residence. Janice was born in Bisbee, N.D., April 3, 1937, daughter of the late Noe and Bridget E. DuBois. Janice was a teacher for many years, retiring from the Bristol School District after fifteen years as a Special Education Teacher. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her grandsons, Noah Smollen, William Fitzler; her great-granddaughter, Angelina Smollen; her "Guardian Angels" Kelly and Joy Harrison; special friend, Lori Jameson; other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brian Smollen in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Harry Falls. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2010, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend James F. Peters officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 until time of service at 11 a.m. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care.
