Joseph, who resided at 1105 Brown Street, Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware, served as a Sergeant in the 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on January 28, 1942 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed in the manufacture of leather and also as Single, without dependents.

He was "Killed In Action" at Morville Les Vic, France and was awarded a Purple Heart.

He had served in the Army for two years and nine months at the time of his death.
