KIA 26-4-1945 on his first combat mission as pilot of P-61B / #42-39559. MACR 14078. The aircraft was damaged by friendly flak while protecting the bridgeheads at Ulm / Dillingen / Donauwoerth, Germany.

The radar operator 2Lt Harold A. Anderson bailed out of the aircraft but regrettably at a too low altitude for his parachute to deploy properly. The aircraft crashed at Altisheim, Bayern, Germany. 2 KIA.
