He enlisted in the Army on May 25, 1943 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of paper and pulp and also as being Married.

George was "Killed In Action" near Lampoldshausen, Germany during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
