Son of Mrs. Glenna Schading who resided in Rahway, New Jersey.

John served as a Staff Sergeant & Asst. Radio Operator / Gunner on B-24H #41-28988, 760th Bomber Squadron, 460th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.

He resided in Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on June 17, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Machinist and also as Single, without dependents.

John was "Killed In Action" over Hungary during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and a Purple Heart.
