Clement served as a Technician Fifth Class, 123rd Ordnance Bomb Disposal Squad, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on September 28, 1943 in Buffalo, New York. He was noted as being employed as a Barber and also as Single, with dependents.

Clement was "Killed In Action" in Czechoslovakia while disposing ammunition. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
