Son of Raymond B. Andrews who resided in Rochester, New Hampshire.

Ralph served as a Technical Sergeant & Ball Turret Gunner on B-24D #42-72847, 513rd Bomber Squadron, 376th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Strafford County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on September 25, 1941, prior to the war, in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24D #42-72847 took off from San Pancrazio, Italy on a bombing mission over Regensburg, Germany. After the bombing mission was completed B-24J #42-100253, for an unknown reason, crashed into B-24D #42-72847 causing both aircraft to crash in Germany during the war.

Ralph was "Killed In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
