He enlisted in the Army on April 6, 1942 in Wilmington, Delaware. He was noted as being employed as a Salesperson and also as being Single, without dependents.

Morris was "Killed In Action" over the English Channel while on strafing and escort duty during the war.

He had served in the Air Corps for two years and two months at the time of his death and was decorated with an Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and a Purple Heart.
