Dudley G. Titus, Airman, Missing
Lt. Dudley G. Titus, 21, army air forces pilot, is missing in action in France since August 12, the war department has notified his mother. He is the son of Mrs. Carolyn Titus of Lake Grove, and of the late Ben Titus. The missing flier's grandfather, W. S. Titus, who is 87, lives at 928 S. E. 32d avenue, Portland.
A graduate of Salem high school, Lt. Titus won his pilot's wings in February of this year at Stockton army air field, Cal.
His brother, Ben Titus, Jr., aviation radioman first class, has just received his wings in the navy air corps at Athens, Ga., and is now visiting in Austin, Texas, with his wife's family. He is a veteran of navy service, having enlisted in March of 1940. He was stationed on Midway island when Japan started the war.
