Anthony, who resided at 103 West Ninth Street, New Castle, Delaware, served as a Private First Class, Company C, 502nd Parachute Infantry Regt, 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on September 16, 1940, prior to the war, at the New Castle County Air Base, New Castle, Delaware.

He was "Killed In Action" near Carentan, France during the war.

He had served in the Army for one year and eleven months at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart.

Anthony also has a "Cenotaph" in the St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery, New Castle, Delaware.
