Julian, who resided in Christiana, Delaware, served as a Technician Fifth Grade with the 237th Engineer Combat Battalion, U.S. Army during World War II.

He "Died Of Wounds" received during the invasion of Normandy, France during the war.

He had served with the Army for one year and five months at the time of his death and was awarded a Purple Heart.
