Robert served as a Staff Sergeant & Radio Operator on B-26C #42-107670, 451st Bomber Squadron, 322nd Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on September 23, 1942 in Buffalo, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Salesperson and also as Single, without dependents.

Robert was "Killed In Action" in France in the crash of his B-26 during the war.

He was awarded a Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and a Purple Heart.
