Son of John Bachurek of 1081 Carmalt Street, Dickson City, Pa.

Joseph served as a Staff Sergeant in the 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

Prior to the war he resided at 255 Ave. A., Rochester, Monroe County, New York.

He enlisted in the Army on January 14, 1941, prior to the war, in Buffalo, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

Joseph "Died Of Wounds" received during fighting in France.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
