Wendell served as a Sergeant, 330th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Coos County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on June 3, 1941, prior to the war, in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of paper and pulp and also as Single, without dependents.

Wendell was "Killed In Action" in France during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
