Velma Lester Ash, 67, 659 Leland Ave., died June 2, in a Salt Lake hospital of cancer. Born Jan. 16, 1906, Murray, to David D. and May Gilbert Lester. Married Wendell Ash Aug. 14, 1933, Salt Lake LDS Temple.

School teacher in Murray and Granite districts.

Survivors: husband; daughters, Mrs. Stuart (Donna) Wagstaff, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Clifford (Barbara) Argyle, Sunset, Davis County; 8 grandchildren; brother, Gardella, Murray.

Funeral Tuesday noon, Grant 1st LDS Ward, 601 Mansfield Ave. Friends 4760 S. State Monday 6-8 p.m., at ward Tuesday hour prior to service. Burial Murray Cemetery.
