Henry Kurtz is the son of Jacob Kurtz and Sarah Seiver He is the second person to be placed in the Kurtz Cemetery. Henry married Nancy Eshleman, who lived on a farm adjacent to the one where Henry was raised. Nancy was born on September 5, 1821 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and died in 1882 in Illinois. They have a son Henry, Jr. who was born on January 18, 1844 in Stark County, Ohio and died in Greenfield, Iowa on May 18, 1923.
