472565 Private George Robert Brookes of the Canadian Infantry, Saskatchewan Regiment. Son of Ida Brooks, Nee Wilesmith of Green Gates, Victoria Road, Malvern Link, Worcestershire, England and the late Cyrus Edwin Brooks. George enlisted in November 1915.

George was rendering first aid to the wounded on 18th November 1916, crawling from between shell holes in "No Mans Land". Upon completing his work he crawled back to the Regine Trench and as he was rising to climb over the parapet he was shot through the head by a bullet from the refle of an enemy sniper and killed.
