Mrs. Mary Dullea, of Saddleworth, received news on Sunday that her second son, Charles, had died of gunshot wounds, in France, on August 1. The deceased was one of a family of soldiers, and he first offered his services in October, 1914. He was accepted in March, 1916, on the third attempt. He left Australia in June, 1916, with the 18th of the 10th, and he was transferred to the 43rd Battalion in England. He left for France in November, and served with his battalion up to the time of his death. He was of fine physique, and was 35 years of age. He spent his boyhood days in Saddleworth, and was educated at the Saddelworth Public School. At the time of enlistment he was engaged in farming at Bute. Pte. Charles Dullea is the third member of the family to make the supreme sacrifice. His eldest brother, Cpl. M. Dullea was killed at Pozieres, in August, 1916, and Sgnlr. W. E. Dullea, at Noviene, on April 2, 1917. Another brother, Bdbr. T. Dullea, has been with the forces for more than two years, and is at present serving with the artillery in France.
