Son of Oswald William and Kate Carver of Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England; husband of Elizabeth Adah Noël (née Hobart) Carver of West Runton House, West Runton, Norfolk, England.

In the 1908 Summer Olympics held in London, he was a rower in the British Coxed eight's rowing team who won the Bronze Medal.


He is commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
